Make your Own Christmas Cards with Royalty Free Images

Author: Jameson Meer

For a great personalized and home made touch, try making your own Christmas card this season. Being a great designer is not a big deal, you just have to look for ideas you can get from Royalty free Christmas clipart graphic images you can buy online and download to your computer. And this way you get to reuse the same pictures for many years to come, as you can print, cut and paste the same images as many times as you want to make your Christmas cards and crafts.

First thing is to look for pictures that you think might inspire others on receiving your card. Good quality Royalty free Christmas clipart graphic images are a great help to make your Christmas Cards creative and memorable for your friends when they receive them. There are also software programs that you can use to create your card.

A greeting card that was made by your own hands is more significant than buying from the stores. Making greeting cards can help you express your feelings and give your special heartfelt regards to people.

Picking your own format for your own special kind of card, the materials you are going to use and especially the message you are going to include is very important. Collect greetings and card stock materials and decide the layout and themes you want to use.

If you decide to use your software, just follow these steps to make your Christmas cards creative:

  1. There are various software programs you can use to make your greeting cards. These include InDesign, PageMaker, and other publishing software. But before making your card, make drafts.
  2. Pick a format for your greeting card.
  3. Choose images and clip-arts found on the Internet such as Royalty free Christmas clipart graphic images. If you want to make your card simple, just stick to only one image to be inserted. But if you want to be artistic, it is recommended to choose images that best fit your format and even your card message.
  4. You can also modify the images you have selected. You can change the size and even the color to make your card layout better. You can also use frames or any templates that you think it may fit for your greeting card.
  5. Select the appropriate font. Select large size font letterings so that you can read it clearly. For making Greeting Cards, having only one font is more professional than having too many font styles and colours.
  6. Arrange the graphics and the text. Make it consistent.
  7. Add credit lines or any notes.
  8. Last thing to do is to print the whole thing. As you can see, you have made your own original greeting Card without any time looking for a new one.

If you prefer to hand make your Christmas cards instead, without using software, you just print out the pictures you want from your selection of Royalty free Christmas clipart graphic images in your computer file, and then cut out the pictures you want to use. Glue them to the card stock you want, add a greeting and you are all done.

Preserving Memories - A Basic Training About Scrapbooks For The Kids

Author: Abhishek Agarwal

Memories express the events that had happened to people in the past. They try to remember them often. Such memories must be preserved so that they are easily recollected. Parents had realized its necessity and they started encouraging their children to involve in scrapbooking at an early stage. They encourage them to make their own scrapbook in to preserve their childhood memories.

Want your memories to be safe and funny to look at? Scrapbooking is one of the effective methods to do so. Anyone can narrate a story with their photo collections. The reason is memories are always intact. These experiences and practices can teach something to children. They can learn on how to be patient, how to be creative, value of resourcefulness and how to persevere, etc…

The Initial Phase:

Your work on scrapbooking can be shared with your kids. It is a pleasant activity. Scrapbooking is restricted to kids when it comes to sharing. They can be shared with your friends and co-workers too. But there are few essentials that you have to imbibe before you start sharing your scrapbook works.

Make sure that your kids develop some liking and interest for arts and crafts. This is very essential in making a kid work on scrapbooks. Kids who have interests in arts and crafts can be easily are the perfect ones to learn the activity. This is because they already possess the talent of creating wonderful works.

But it does not matter if your kid has no interests in arts and crafts. Do not conclude that they can never be trained for scrapbooking. It is now time to expose them to a completely new world of fun and joy.

The next thing that comes into consideration is the workplace. The work place should be spacious for the children to do their work. Scrapbooking needs a lot of papers and other materials. It comes easy when they can find the required things from the scattered materials. This thing is very essential for developing the habit or interest of scrapbooking. The kids can leave their work as it is so that they can continue it the next morning. The work is left undisturbed.

The kids need materials to work on a scrapbook. They should be provided with sufficient amount of materials. To start with the basic, basic materials must be made available to them as they are common. The most basic materials that are required for training kids for scrapbooking are: scrapbook paper- size of 12x12, color pencils, pens, pictures, scrapbooking die-cuts, rubber stamps, cut-outs, tools like punchers, scissors, trimmers, rulers, foam, glue, removers, stickers of various designs, color, tags, templates, totes, organizers, and transparencies, albums or old scrapbooks, alphabets, books or scrapbooking magazines for inspiring ideas, old cards, eyelets for adding beauty, brads, nails, tacks, colored, some specialty papers, and few apparels like as scrapbook kits that can be used as starters.

Some parents cannot afford to buy some scrapbooking materials and supplies that are expensive. But they have a desire to involve their children in scrapbooking. Here are some tips that make scrapbooking a low-cost activity.

1) Collect old pictures and hand them to your kids so that they can make use of it in scrapbooks. Make sure that they are not important.

2) Get some double prints for your kids from the developing center whenever you visit them. Ask your kids to use them on their scrapbooks.

3) Usually, there are some materials left over after the completion of a project. Do not throw them. Instead collect them for so that your kids use them in their next project.

4) Inspect your old usages so that something can be made use of it.

5) Teach our kids the value of time. Teach them on how to make efficient use of the time available by discarding the unnecessary materials, supplies that are of no use.

Craft Shops – The Ideal Christmas

Author: sabina

So with the economic climate well and truly kicking in a grim way, it’s making the thought of Christmas a stomach churning event.

While we all enjoyed the Christmases beforehand with credit galore and buying our darlings anything and everything it made the spirit of Christmas almost vanish.

Now we are back heading for the tough times ahead with a small budget to boot, how can we make sure we get the spirit of Christmas back as well as making sure we can still give our loved ones and our little angels the best Christmas yet?

Easy, let’s go back to our roots, remember the good old days when we had no cash to throw about? What did we do then? We made the things we couldn’t afford to buy.

Xmas puddings:

Quick Christmas Pudding

Serves 5 or 6

Ingredients

50 g fresh wholemeal or white bread-crumbs l beaten egg

l level teaspoon mixed spice

Instructions

1. Add crumbs to egg in bowl.

2. Sieve the flour and spice and add the mincemeat, milk and treacle. Mix well.

3. Spoon into a greased 600 ml basin, cover with greased greaseproof paper and a layer of foil, tucking edges round rim of basin.

4. Place on upturned saucer in pan with boiling water halfway up basin. (Or, use a steamer which will give you a lighter pudding).

Steam for 4 hours. Keep water on boil, refill with boiling water when necessary. Or pressure cook following instructions given in your pressure cooker manual. The pudding can he eaten now or kept a week or so. If it is kept until another day, steam it then for l hour.

Christmas Face Painting Tips

Author: Jackie Strong

Face painting is one of the most creative and fun hobbies that anyone who has an artistic side to them could take up. Sadly, many feel that, if they can’t draw perfect pictures, then they wouldn’t be any good at face painting so tend to dismiss it. This is a great shame because there are ways around painting designs such as using stencils which many employ until they’re confident with painting freehand.

athena face painting designAs Christmas is approaching faster than Santa can harness the reindeer to his sledge, many of you will be already creating and practising your very own fabulous designs. There will be those among you that would love to follow suit, but have yet to apply their first brushstroke. With just a few weeks left to the festive season, now is a perfect time to take the plunge. It really isn’t as difficult as you may think. You’ll be  christmas face painting your family and friends in no time at all.

FIRST STEPS: Take things easy at first with simple to do designs. Cheek art is a perfect starting point with basic little patterns featuring flowers, leaves, holly and berries. Remember that the theme is Christmas so red, white, green, silver and gold are essential colours.

COLOURS: Don’t make the mistake that many learners make and rush out to buy every colour under the rainbow. All you need are your primary colours which are blue, yellow, red and black and white. From these you can mix any colour and shade you want, and it will keep costs down.

PAINTING WHISKERS: Try using a small fine pointed brush, working outwards across the cheeks. For any fine lines you may be painting, you will find that liquid paints are the best.

cat face painting designFUR EFFECT: When trying to create a fur effect, use a medium-sized brush, working from the centre outwards. That way the edges taper off. Have a go on paper or a face painting practice pad first until you get to grips with the motion needed for your required effect.

ADVANTAGE OF SPONGES: These will play an important part in your face painting kit, being perfect for applying base coats, large areas of paint on the face and body, and great for blending colours. TIP make them go further by cutting them in half

GLITTER AND STICK-ON JEWELS: Depending what design you are doing, stick-on jewels, diamante and glitter can be used to stunning effect. However, as with face paint, you need to remember to use only glitter and stick-on jewels that are safe to put on a person’s skin (eg body glitter). NEVER use aluminum glitter - polyester only.  Aluminum glitter can really hurt the eyes and skin.

FAMILY AFFAIR: Use your family and friends to practice on, trying out different ideas. If you begin practising now, you’ll be confident enough by Christmas to paint a whole face and there are some quite spectacular and highly popular choices to have a go at. The Ice Queen and animals will always be favourites along with the traditional Santa and Rudolph.

Activities to keep the family entertained this Christmas

Author: Bob Brightside

Some children will happily entertain themselves with pictures, drawings and paintings but there are many children out there who want to get involved with activities and sports. If that sounds like your kids then you are in luck.

There are many sports and activities that would interest even the most outgoing child. Don’t worry if you fancy a go as there will be plenty of opportunities to do so. There are a range of places you can go for a weekend that have plenty on offer over the festive period with a variety of shows that are both general themed and Christmas themed to get everyone in the mood.

If you are looking for a place to go where there are plenty of activities to do then you need to get down to one of the holiday parks that are in the UK. If you have sporty children then Basketball, Tennis and Football where the children can learn some new skills and test them out on the court or pitch. These sports are coached by fully trained and qualified coaches so your children will be in safe hands.

Mountain climbing, Go-Karting and the High ropes are there to provide a stern test for older children and adults. The high ropes are particularly testing and require good upper body strength and balance, all safety measures are taken on these and every other activity to ensure that everyone who uses them are strapped in and won’t get hurt.

There is a fun element to many activities at the holiday parks including karaoke which I am sure will have many people up trying to impress the audience with their best vocal talents. ‘The Beat Goes On’ is a fun activity for all the family and is definitely one where the kids can let off some steam. This basically involves a big drumming session where the aim is to make as much noise as possible, something the children will thrive on.

If you fancy getting out of the house in between or even for Christmas then you should definitely consider one of the holiday parks as there is fun for all the family as well as great dining option, brilliant accommodation and a good Christmas spirit.

With UK family breaks being so popular at the moment you should consider holiday parks as your next trip. With Bognor Regis hotels you will have all the comfort and services you require after a fun filled day.

6 Top Challenges and Solutions in Making a Christmas Card Family Photo

Author: Melanie Smith

Taking a nice photo for the Christmas card family photo sounds so easy. However as any parent who has attempted this holiday custom can tell you, it's not as simple as it sounds. What you want is an exceptional, nice photo Christmas card. And what you usually get is squirmy, stubborn kids that blink just as you're taking the picture. But don't give up easily and throw in the Santa hat just yet. Here are 6 simple, neat solutions to those top challenges.

Challenge 1: You want a cheerful Christmas background for your family photo Christmas cards, but you don't want to decorate your house with strands of lights and tinsel as early as November.

Solution: Go to the Mall. Department stores and shopping malls are decorating for the holiday earlier, usually right after Halloween. These Christmas backdrops are perfect for family photo Christmas cards. Take the kids to mall and gather them in front of the blinking lights with a few camera clicks and you'll have the perfect shot.

Challenge 2: Your young ones won't sit still long enough to take the photo.

Solution: Take out the props with you. Get the oversized teddy bear or other toys that mesmerizes them. Pose them with a dog or cat. Make them do something simple, like ringing a Christmas bell or kissing their sister's cheek. Use trial and error until you figure out the item or activity that interests them long enough for you to take a few shots.

Challenge 3: Your teenage kids don't want to pose for a family photo.

Solution: Get some candid shots. Make action the focal point of your photo Christmas cards, focusing on things that your teenagers like to do. Take pictures of them showing off their talents or skills. Whether they are in the swimming pool, a canoe, playing basketball, horseback riding, baking cookies, playing with the cat, or enjoying any activity, your holiday cards will provide a quick look into your family's interests and personality.

Challenge 4: You'd like to send photo Christmas cards that are humorous and entertaining, just like your family.

Solution: Fashion your very own holiday story picture, by setting up a view. Here are some ideas. The kids discovered Mommy kissing Santa Claus (Daddy in disguise). Put the young kids in a bubble bath with Santa hats on them or bubble beards. Take a snapshot of each family member grabbing a slice of pizza with the message "pizza on earth". Picture an empty plate of cookies and empty glasses of milk in front of guilty-looking children with the caption "sorry Santa!"

Those after-the-Halloween-costume-sales can come in handy when trying to set up a fanciful photo. How about posing your little dolls with angel wings you picked up at a discount? Other options could be your kids dressed as cats (caption: Meowy Christmas), super heroes (caption: have a super Christmas), a baby in a pea-pod costume (caption: "peas on earth").

Challenge 5: You'd like a beautiful photo Christmas card that doesn't look like the usual, exhausted, group family photo you send out every year.

Solution: Change the scene of your photo shoot. If you're within driving distance, go to a beach, there are a lot of exceptional photo opportunities. For instance, pose the kids on a sleigh on a sand dune. Engrave Merry Christmas on the sand, and have everyone sit behind the inscription.

Autumn makes a lot of great possibilities for photo Christmas cards. Try taking shots of the kids playing in a pile of leaves, or in a pumpkin patch. Make a lovely panorama of your backdrop and it can create an impression that takes your photo Christmas card to a new higher level.

Challenge 6: Whenever you thrash about to take a family group photo, somebody always blinks their eyes, turns their head away or doesn't smile. It seems just about impossible to get one great shot where everyone looks good.

Solution: Pick a card company that offers photo Christmas card designs that has multiple photos of your family. The latest fashion in holiday photo cards is to include a number of your photos on one card in an exclusive, holiday layout. This has become famous because it is much easier to take perfect, individual photos of your family members than one suitable group picture.

Whatever particular test you face when making your photo Christmas cards, there is always an easy solution. Try these innovative approaches and soon you'll be hearing from your friends, relatives, coworkers and neighbors how much they liked this year's family holiday photo card.

The Art Of Paper Cutting And Folding

Author: Rajeev Kumar

PAPER cutting and folding are other forms of handwork which may be used in many delightful ways at home, or in the school-room in connection with other studies. It is closely allied to drawing and cultivates alertness and powers of observation, especially when the cutting is free-hand work.
Many forms of symmetry and life may be made with the kindergarten folding papers, and are of deep interest to the children. As the fingers grow in strength, a heavier paper or cardboard may be used for the construction work. Plain cartridge wall-paper is inexpensive and can be used advantageously in large classes. For more details visit o www.greatindustrialguide.com .Bogus paper and even Newspapers may be utilized in a similar way. In lessons in folding, the children must learn to follow the directions given in a quick, accurate way.

For the work in cutting or silhouetting plain black or white paper is the best. Kindergarten papers 4x4 inches may be bought in all colors and are best adapted for the conventional designs. These may be mounted on the tops of boxes and other articles as a decoration, or used in stencil work, as explained in the following chapter. With young children
It is preferable to use blunt-pointed scissors and inexpensive paper. The following outlines may be suggestive of much that may be worked out in relation to the other class-room work. It may be a foundation for later work in more difficult construction.

Paper Accordion

The paper accordions afford a great deal of amusement to very young children. They may be made of newspaper or any scraps of colored paper red, white, and blue are especially pleasing. If made of the colors, the strips must be pasted together first, so that the accordion is started with two long pieces one and one-half inches wide. Lap strip
An on strip b, so that a square is formed at c. The accordion is built up on this square. Fold b over a on the square c, fold an over b; continue until the strips have all been folded.
If made of color, the accordions are a pleasing Christmas-tree decoration. They may be made of strips of any width, and any number of yards may be put in each. For young children do not cut the strips too narrow.

Paper Dolls

Fold the paper so that the two short edges will lie together. This will make the strip half a yard in length, but of two thicknesses. Fold again in a similar way, making four thicknesses. Continue until the strip is folded to about a width of one and one-half inches. With the scissors cut in a free way the outline of the doll; if necessary, sketch it before
Cutting. Care must be taken not to cut through the folds at a and b of the sketch, as the dolls will not be joined if the folds are cut. To know more logon to www.dream-revealed.com .The father doll and children may also be made in a similar way. Animals make an interesting variation.

Free Cutting or Tearing of Objects

Either the glazed or unglazed paper may be used for this purpose. The object to be copied may be placed before the children, or free range given to the imagination if objects are not available. No directions should be given, as they should be allowed to cut or tear in a free way. Astonishing results are often obtained. Single objects or scenes may be portrayed, and profiles of friends and classmates made ensilhouette. This work is interesting to the older children, and the results are very pleasing.

Make use of paper crafts

Author: Olivia Andrews

Do you have an artistic hand that could create beautiful things with the help of paper? Then, you can make use of an arts and crafts book which will enable you to make amazing things by your own that too in a very short span of time. You can make beautiful 3D flowers to scrapbooks that shall preserve the life story of your family with the use of paper.

If you buy these craft items from the market, they could cost you much but if you are making them right at your home you can easily save some money. Things you need to follow to save money for making the paper crafts are:

1. On occasions such as Christmas, New Year you can create gift tags or small gift boxes with the help of used greeting cards. You can also save by keeping the gift wrapping paper with you that could be used later elsewhere.

2. You can also find some used crafters online whereby you can keep an eye on purging ex crafters and get ready to cash in on your good fortune as soon as one has got tired of storing supplies.

3. While you are online, you need to watch the deals in disguise and never judge the book by its cover. There could be expensive book or photo album covers where you can save by buying an inexpensive album and then throw away the inside pages and fill it with your own pages fitted into plastic sleeves. You should also constantly look for ways to convert cheaper products in the ones you require.

4. Always buy in bulk and then swap. This is because when you buy a product in bulk, it saves a lot of your money. Then you can get a gathering of your crafty friends and swap these items like the old barters way.

5. Never pay money for what you can get free. Patterns usually cost much for crafters and if you don't buy patterns you can buy crafting magazines for more ideas. If you are even tired of these magazines, you can visit online and find out great ideas.
